This event will be rescheduled in the future. Stay tuned!
Scenic ridges and hollows with moss and ferns year round, spring wildflowers including unusual ones found only in bogs. Steep, narrow, dirt trails can be slippery when wet. O.D. von Engeln Preserve at Malloryville, West Malloryville Rd, Freeville has a one-mile loop with boardwalks. Then we'll drive 4 miles to Lime Hollow Nature Center, 338 McLean Rd, Cortland for a restroom and snack break, and walk or drive one relatively flat mile to the Chicago Bog trailhead, another one-mile loop featuring a kettle bog. Optionally walk a short distance on the bog surface in water more than ankle deep; old shoes recommended for this part. Lots of adjoining trails for anyone who wants a longer walk.
Directions: details when you RSVPBring: hiking shoes with good traction, water bottle, snack or bag lunch. Optional: hiking poles, camera
