The trails in the Hemlock Canadice State Forest are vaguely marked, but we won't get lost - the lake is always downhill and the cars uphill! We'll hike in the less steep section of the mixed hardwood forest for about 1.5 hours, then interested women over the age of 21 will head 2 miles down the road for wine tasting at Eagle Crest Vineyards. If you decide not to join us at the vineyard, you may wish to drive a mile south on Blank Rd (which turns into Mission Rd) to view St. Michael’s Mission - once a seminary, later the Livonia Jr. High School, and now a training and retreat conference center. It's an impressive series of structures out in the middle of nowhere.
Please respect the trip leader and update your RSVP if you sign-up but then are unable to attend. If you attend without RSVP-ing it is possible that the hike may have changed without notification. Directions will be sent when you RSVP.
What to Bring
Dress for the weather - consider long pants because we will encounter weeds. Bring water and a snack if desired (Eagle Crest does not offer food).
