Please join us at 10:30 am for a Pancake breakfast event at Stoney Ridge Farms in Farmington. The pancake breakfast menu is all you can eat pancakes, maple sausage (made with their own maple syrup), and fresh maple syrup. Cost is a donation.
Afterwards we’ll check out the sugar house or maybe see some of the cooking demos. At around noon we’ll depart Stoney Ridge for the drive (about 11 miles) to Phelps and the trail head for our hike. So maybe for those interested in the hike only...meet around 12:30 at the trail parking area. Let’s keep in touch by phone!
This section of the Ontario Pathways trail is 3.4 miles out and back, though we could turn around sooner. The trail is fairly wide (~6 ft) and is good for all skill levels. We’ll be walking parallel to Flint Creek, a tributary to the Canandaigua Lake Outlet, and pass by 2 waterfalls on our way. The first waterfall drops in 2 distinct cascading segments totaling no more than 10 ft in height over a distance of 30 ft. The second waterfall has two segments over a distance of 10 ft, totaling no more than 3 ft in height. The flow is variable, but rarely dry. Approximate time to see both falls and walk back is 40 minutes to an hour, though we may continue further before turning around.
Bring: Dress appropriately for the weather. Wear hiking boot or good walking/trail shoes for the trail. It might be muddy, especially if there is more rain or melting snow (we'll update you before the event). Optional: hiking poles, water
Meet at the Wedding tent for the pancake breakfast
This free event is open to members and non-members of Women Outdoors. Non-members are invited to join us on two events to see what you think. The third time's a charm - we'll ask you to join Women Outdoors at that point. You can join now by clicking on Join Us.
