Flat, woodchip-covered trails through the woods and around the ponds should be walkable in most weather. We’ll go fairly slowly and keep an eye out for wildlife. Winter birds typically include an interesting variety of ducks as well as woodpeckers and other year-round residents. The visitor center, with restrooms and exhibits, is open 10am-4pm.
Bring binoculars, or borrow a pair at the visitor desk.
Optional: Join us for an early lunch afterwards, around 11:30 am. Location TBD. Any suggestions?
Directions: From Route 13 near the Ithaca airport, look for green signs with binoculars and turn onto Sapsucker Woods Road. There are several parking lots; the one with visitor signs is closest to the building.
