Annapolis Rocks! No, not Maryland's state capital, we're talking about the section of the Appalachian Trail in South Mountain State Park near Boonsboro, MD.
Join us for a moderately strenuous 5-mile (total) out-and-back hike to the beautiful overlook at Annapolis Rocks. The trail is extremely rocky and at times hilly. Sturdy hiking boots or shoes are a must for this hike, and definitely bring hiking poles if you have them. Don't forget to pack the binoculars for the overlook. Also bring water, trail snacks and a brown bag lunch.
We invite you to bring your young friends or relatives (girls and boys) to hike with us to Annapolis Rocks. The Women Outdoors motto, Nurture Your Nature, also applies to nurturing a love of nature in young people. Sorry, no doggies on this hike.
