** BRING YOUR OWN OR RENT **
Join us for a leisurely paddle on the Erie Canal. We will start out in Fairport and paddle West for about 1.5 miles, exploring the Oxbow area before returning to our put-in. Total time on the water approximately 2 hours. Optionally join us for dinner out in Fairport after the paddle.
- Arrive at 3:45 to be ready to put in at 4 pm
We’ll be putting in at the Rental place, the address below.
The Erie Canal Boat Company, 7 Liftbridge Ln. W, Fairport NY, (585) 748-2628. You can rent/reserve your kayak online at: http://www.eriecanalboatcompany.com/. The cost with tax for 2 hours is $33.51. They have a 24-hour full refund policy. When renting online, select 4 pm.
Is this your first time? Let us know in the comments and we can meet you a bit earlier for a quick lesson, followed by additional help once on the water.
**MUST THINGS TO BRING**: kayak/canoe, paddle, LIFE JACKET, whistle (unless you are renting), water shoes and plenty of water to drink.
- Other things to bring: bug spray, sunscreen, hat, clothes that can get wet, change of clothes, towel, etc. Don't carry anything that can't get wet unless it is in a waterproof container. You might also want to bring a band to secure your glasses or sunglasses (I have some to give out), binoculars, and a camera.
After the Paddle:
Let’s have dinner together. Any suggestions?
