Join us for a weekend of adventure in Lake Placid. The plan is to hike Wright’s Peak, one of the 4000 plus. If a high peak does not interest you there are many other choices in and around Lake Placid, and Mary will be leading low peak hike.
More details to follow soon. For now, we are taking a survey to see who might be interested in sharing the cost of renting an Airbnb for the weekend. The size of the house and cost is dependent on how many are willing to commit. We have located a house near the village that has 5 bedrooms and two baths for $300/night plus fees. So, if 5 people commit it’s about $150 per person for the weekend.
So far we have 8 members who will definitely be attending, so we are looking into renting a second house. Maximum 12!
Please email me directly (amds0824@yahoo.com) by August 31 if you are interested. A 50% deposit is required to hold your spot with balance due Sept 28, two weeks before the check in date.
RSVP to this event ONLY if you have been confirmed as attending. We can use the comments to communicate with each other about activities, carpools, etc.
*Start and end times are tentative at this time.*

RSVP and Cancellations – IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ
Please respect the trip leader and update your RSVP if you sign-up but then are unable to attend. Please also RSVP early, especially if there are only a few signed up. Events may be cancelled due to lack of attendance, as well as changes in weather or other circumstances. So be sure to RSVP and share your cell phone number when asked, as events may have changed and you will not receive notification. If you must cancel at the last minute, call or text the event host/trip leader (let her know who it is who is calling/texting). Contact information is included in your registration confirmation. Be sure to copy down the address, directions, and trip leader contact information to bring with you as there might not be good cell service at the event location.
You can also join our Meetup Group: http://www.meetup.com/Women-Outdoors-Finger-Lakes/ and you'll be able to share in the conversation with other attendees, ask about car-pooling, borrow equipment, etc. RSVP here or on Meetup.
