Let's fit in some winter hiking while we still can! We'll meet near the Trailside Lodge, hike the nearby trails, and return to the lodge to warm up and enjoy a snack together.
The trails in this area are generally easy, mostly flat, but a couple of ups and downs.
What to bring
Dress for the weather. Sturdy shoes or boots. Wearing layers will allow you to adjust so that you won't overheat. Day pack, hiking poles, water. Micro-spikes if you have them. A snack or light lunch.
Directions
You must use the Castile entrance due to winter road closures within the park. There is no entrance fee at this time of the year. Once in the park follow the Park Rd to the right. How to Find Us: Let's meet near my car, which will be at the end of the parking lot near the Trailside Lodge. I have a red Honda Element. Very boxy. Roof rack.
