Join April for this hike
Our hike at the Tanglewood Nature Center will take us along an old farm road, through the woods, and a good stiff climb (not a rock climb, just 500 ft of up in a half mile) next to a steep cliff leading us to a scenic overlook of the Chemung River. The hike takes about 2 hours, plus whatever time we spend at the overlook.
Dress for the weather. Layers are good since you'll be heating up on the climb.
Bring MASK (must be worn when 6 feet distance can't be maintained), a snack, and water. Hiking poles may be useful. Expect mud, rocks, weeds, and other standard outdoor features. Dogs are not allowed on this Tanglewood Nature Center property.
Distance 3 miles, moderate elevation gain
Facilities The visitor center is closed due to the pandemic, and we will not have access to facilities. We do have access to the woods, so come prepared.
COVID-19 Message Until further notice, to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, we have adopted the following rules for all events. Read more at COVID-19.
