The Leave No Trace concept is one that crosses all boundaries of the recreation spectrum and is applicable for anyone who enjoys spending time in the out of doors. The idea is simple - leave the places you enjoy as good as or better than you found them. Both skills and ethics are involved, as well as good decision-making. Come and learn about the benefits of adhering to the Leave No Trace principles. The presentation will last about 2 hours, and include a short hike, with a more in-depth Q/A session to follow. There will be displays and visuals as well as interactive activities. Hand outs and Awareness Certificates will be available.
Our presenter is Ms. Chanda Vincent, Master Educator for LNT since 2004. She is a Life Member of Girl Scouts USA (32 years), GSUSA Instructor of Trainers and Outdoor Trainer, Red Cross Instructor for First Aid, CPR & AED and Fundamentals of Canoeing, Facilitator for the NYS DEC Project Wild, and more. Ms. Vincent has also had BSA Voyageur High Adventure Training as an Explorer Post adviser.
