Sky  Meadows Leaf Peepers Hike

The colors this fall have been just amazing! Let's see if we can catch more of the show at Sky Meadows State Park in Delaplane, VA.

We'll do a brisk 5.2 mile loop hike through meadows and woodlands. Right now it looks like the weather will be in the mid-40s, so be sure and wear layers (wool or polypro - no cotton). Bring hiking poles if you have them. Doggies can join us on this hike but must be kept on leash at all times.

Sky Meadows State Park charges a $10 admission/parking fee.

We'll eat our lunch on the trail, but save room for an optional apres-hike jaunt to The Apple House in Linden, VA. Since 1963, this family-owned restaurant and gift shop has been a local favorite. They're renowned for their apple butter cinnamon donuts.

This activity is open to members and non-members of Women Outdoors. Non-members are welcome to attend two WO events as guests. On your third event, we'll ask you to join the Mid-Atlantic Region of Women Outdoors. You can also join right now by clicking on this Join Us link.

Be sure to copy down the address and trip leader contact information from the confirmation email to bring with you as there might not be good cell service at the event location.

If you register but then are unable to attend, please cancel your registration. Events may be cancelled due to lack of attendance, as well as changes in weather or other circumstances. 

If you must cancel at the last minute, call or text the event host/trip leader (see your confirmation email for contact details) and let her know who it is who is calling/texting.
