Join Judy, Lynn, and Val for a June paddle
Boats in the water at 10:30 a.m.
Join us for an easy paddle on the Seneca River and watch fish jump, Great Blue Heron decorate the riverbanks and Swallows dive bomb birds of prey. We will stop for lunch along the way so bring a bag lunch.
Address and Directions:
Meet at the Port Byron/Seneca River Boat Launch, Route 38 in Cayuga County. The site is approximately three miles north of the Village of Port Byron with a gravel ramp and room for 15 cars and trailers. The Google Plus Code is 39H3+9X Port Byron, NY. Trip length: 10:30 a.m. to approx. 2:30 or 3 p.m.
Rentals: Waterloo Harbor Canoe and Kayak Company (approximately 23 miles from Port Byron Fishing Access).
Bring:
- Kayak/canoe, paddle, LIFE JACKET, whistle
- Hat, water shoes, clothes that can get wet (quick dry is best)
- Water (required)
- Food and drink for lunch
- Recommended: insect repellent, suntan lotion, camera/phone in waterproof container, binoculars, band to secure your glasses or sunglasses
Please refrain from attending if you have recently been ill or have COVID-like symptoms.

Please respect the trip leader and other members and update your RSVP if you sign-up but then are unable to attend. Events may be cancelled due to lack of attendance, as well as changes in weather or other circumstances. If you must cancel at the last minute, call or text the event host/trip leader (see your registration confirmation for contact details) and let her know who it is who is calling/texting. Be sure to copy down the address, directions, and trip leader contact information to bring with you as there might not be good cell service at the event location.
