Join Lynn, Valerie, and Judy on a relaxing paddle

Boats in the water at 10:30 a.m.

Join us for a a relaxing paddle from the DEC Barge Canal at Cove Road Boat Ramp to Sylvan Beach. We will paddle about an hour on the canal from the boat ramp to Sylvan Beach on Oneida Lake. We will stop on the beach for about an hour. Participants can swim, read a book, have a picnic at the adjacent picnic area or patronize one of the local eateries. After some fun at the beach, we will paddle back to the boat ramp.

Address and Directions:

Cove Road State Boat Launch, 7128 Cove Rd, Sylvan Beach, NY 13054

Important! Coming North on Rt 13 (I-90 Exit 34 or from Route 31), Google will have you turn right onto Oneida St. (Rt 54), which becomes Cove Rd, up to a bridge crossing the canal. That bridge is CLOSED. Instead, you will need to continue on Rt 13 north through Sylvan Beach and detour northeast and then south on Cove Rd. to the canal. Your best choice is to first set your GPS or Google to TA-GA-SOKE Campgrounds, 7820 Higginsville Rd, Blossvale, NY 13308. And from there  continue South on Rt 50A, and then take a right onto Cove Rd. You will pass a sign on the right for Paradise Cove Campground. Continue on Cove Rd until it ends, at the Cove Road Boat Ramp to Sylvan Beach.

Trip length: 10:30 a.m. to approximately 2 p.m.

Bring:

    • Kayak/canoe, paddle, LIFE JACKET, whistle
    • Hat, water shoes, clothes that can get wet (quick dry is best)
