Join Jeanie for this hike down the West side of Canadice Lake

Due to trail conditions on Rob's Trail, this event has been modified to hike only along the west side of Canadice Lake.

Limited to 8 hikers.

We will meet at the north end of the lake at the parking area on Purcell Hill Rd., and then either walk south and return on the same trail, or carpool to start of our hike at the South end.

The trail along the west side is wide and easy and approx. 4 miles to reach the south end of the lake. Nice views of the lake all along the way. Canadice Lake is one of the smallest finger lakes and is forever preserved.

Bring:

  • Dress appropriately for the weather.
  • Sturdy footwear/hiking boots
  • Hiking poles if you use them
  • Water, snacks, hat, insect repellant, sunscreen
  • Optionally: lunch to eat after the hike and a chair to sit in

Dogs allowed on leash.

Onsite Facilities

There are no facilities onsite, and no nearby businesses. If you’re coming from the north there is a gas station and mini-mart in Hemlock; from the south the nearest businesses are in Wayland. If you use TP in the outdoor facilities make sure to bring a zip lock baggie so you can carry it out (TP is so gross to find in the woods).

Approximate Distances

  • Ithaca - 100 miles
