Join Shelly for this outing to the Wyoming County Fair
The beauty of rural New York will be on display on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the Wyoming County Fair. If you’ve never been to Pike (population: 371), a charming hamlet on the East Koy Creek just west of Letchworth State Park, you are missing a treat!
Join me for the excitement of these events:
Fair Opens at 11:00 AM, Buildings Open Everyday
- 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM 4-H dairy, beef, sheep, swine, and goats arrive.
- 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM Dept K first round flower entries accepted.
- 8:30 AM-5:00 PM Open horse show, Western division
- 11:00 AM Baked food sale – Youth Building
- 12:00 PM Parking gates start charging parking fee
- 12:00 4-H Dog Rally Obedience, Agility to follow (approx. 2:00 PM) – Baseball Field (rain location in Expo Center arena)
- 12:00 – 3:00 PM Car show – Creekside area
Admission fee: $10
The plan is to carpool from LeRoy. Meet at Shelly’s house for the 1 hour (give or take) drive at 9:30 a.m.
If you prefer to meet the group at the Fair, let us know when you register or text Shelly.
Let’s explore this little-visited corner of Western New York, pick up some pies at the bake sale, admire the flowers, drool over the beautiful vintage cars, and rustle a lunch together from multiple food trucks. And let’s give ourselves a minute to wander over a few back roads, take some pictures, and celebrate the great outdoors down in the valley.

This free event is open to members and non-members of Women Outdoors. Non-members are invited to join us on two events to see what you think. The third time's a charm - we'll ask you to join Women Outdoors at that point. You can join now by clicking on Join Us.

Please respect the trip leader and other members and update your RSVP if you sign-up but then are unable to attend. Events may be cancelled due to lack of attendance, as well as changes in weather or other circumstances. If you must cancel at the last minute, call or text the event host/trip leader (see your registration confirmation for contact details) and let her know who it is who is calling/texting. Be sure to copy down the address, directions, and trip leader contact information to bring with you as there might not be good cell service at the event location.
