Hike at Durand Eastman Park, ROC

We're heading back to Durand Eastman Park for a 1.7 mile hike around Eastman Lake. This trail is spectacular for any season. The trail follows along the lake where you can see waterfowl and warblers, especially during migration seasons. The trail is pretty flat, and very accessible to parking. We will start at the Eastman Lake parking lot on Log Cabin Rd just off Lakeshore Blvd.

Join us optionally after the hike for a 10 minute drive to Ontario Beach Park and lunch at Bill Gray's Burger Restaurant. Optional 1 mile walk on the pier after lunch, depending on the weather. There's also an Abbot's Ice Cream stand for their famous frozen custard. 

Bring:

• Dress appropriately for the weather.
• Hiking boots, hiking poles if you use them.
• Recommended: binoculars, camera, water, hat.
  

Notes:

• We will meet at the parking lot at Eastman Lake on Log Cabin Rd, just off Lakeshore Blvd.
• The bathrooms at the park should be open. Check out the park map for locations. There are also bathrooms at Ontario Beach Park.
• Durand Eastman Park has a carry in-carry out rule, which means you must take all your garbage with you for disposal after leaving the park.

Please refrain from attending if you have recently been ill or have COVID-like symptoms.

Events may be cancelled due to lack of attendance, as well as changes in weather or other circumstances. If you must cancel at the last minute, call or text the event host/trip leader (see your registration confirmation for contact details) and let her know who it is who is calling/texting. Be sure to copy down the address, directions, and trip leader contact information to bring with you as there might not be good cell service at the event location.
