Join us for our Fall
Connecticut River Paddle Trip!

Must be a member of Women Outdoors to attend. You can join WO at https://www.womenoutdoors.org/joinus

Our paddle trip will be two days on the Connecticut River, overnighting at a 10 person home B&B in Chester VT. (Rooms are shared).

  • We will meet Friday afternoon/evening at the B&B, and stay until Sunday.  Location will be sent to you once you register.
  • Please email bonna.wieler@gmail.com before registering to confirm that this trip is a right fit for you and your boat with a 6-mile paddle day. You can register after approval. 
  • You pay the $180 for the weekend to Women Outdoors when you register. Kayak rentals are available for $30 by checking in with bonna.wieler@gmail.com.
  • Women under 16 yo may come accompanied by an adult.  You must register individually,  thank you.  

We are looking at launching at Hoyts Landing in Springfield VT and paddling to Herricks Cove in Rockingham VT, a 6- mile trip with a car shuttle.  We can extend our time on the water with estuary/ wetland/ birding explorations Saturday afternoon and/or Sunday morning.

Itinerary:

Saturday: 6 miles

180.9 Hoyts Landing in Springfield VT to

Lunch at Charlestown Picnic area,

175.1 Herricks Cove take out

Sunday: 3 miles downriver, plus more in the estuary

175.1 Herricks Cove Connecticut River launch --explore estuary of Williams River ( birding) and go home or choose to paddle 3 mi south to

173.9 lunch at Lower Meadow campsite

172.1 Pine Street boat landing take out

PLEASE NOTE: Overnight events are open only to dues-paying members of the Women Outdoors organization. Joining a Meetup group does not make you a WO member. You can join for only $30/year (or $15 for those under 18, full-time students, and seniors 65 and over) at the Join Us page on our organization's national site. As a member of Women Outdoors you can participate in all of your own region's activities, as well as other region's and national events.
