Great Falls Park Hike
We'll do some rock scrambling on our way to overlooks of the Potomac and Mather Gorge.
Registration is closed
We'll hike out and back along the River Trail, a moderate to difficult trail along the top of the cliffs. In some areas, the trail runs right next to the edge of the cliff, offering spectacular views of the Potomac and Mather Gorge. Cliff heights range from 25-75 feet.
There is some rock scrambling required in the section between the Canal Cut and Cow Hoof Rock, so you'll definitely want to wear hiking boots or sturdy shoes. Also, bring your binoculars to take in the views.
Great Falls Park is extremely popular because it's so close to DC, but we're hoping there won't be big crowds on a winter morning in February. Great Falls Park charges a $5/per vehicle fee.
This free event is open to members and non-members of Women Outdoors. Non-members are invited to join us on two events before
