Big Schloss Hike

We're heading out to George Washington National Forest to hike Big Schloss, a popular hike with spectacular views. At 4 miles and over 1000 feet of elevation gain, this will be a moderately challenging hike with some rock scrambling thrown in for good measure.

You'll definitely need sturdy hiking shoes or boots and bring poles if you have them. We'll have a picnic lunch at the rock outcropping and soak in the view before heading back.

George Washington National Forest is about a 2-hour drive from the Washington metro area.
