Ridge and Rocks Hike at Catoctin Mountain Park
We're hoping for some lovely autumn leaf peeping on our hike at Catoctin Mountain Park. This out-and-back hike will be along a ridge with a stop at Thurmont Vista as we make our way to the ever popular outcroppings at Chimney Rock and Wolf Rock.
Expect a moderately strenuous hike of about 4 miles on uneven, rocky and hilly terrain. You'll definitely want to wear sturdy hiking shoes or boots and hiking poles are strongly recommended.
We'll stop for a brown bag lunch at the rocks before heading back the way we came.
Doggies are welcome on this hike but must be kept on leash (no longer than 6') at all times. Pets must stay on established trails and are not allowed on the rock formations at Wolf Rock and Chimney Rock. Pet owners must clean up after their pet.
This free activity is open to members and non-members of Women Outdoors. Non-members are welcome to attend two WO events as guests. On your third event, we'll ask you to join the Mid-Atlantic Region of Women Outdoors. You can also join right now by clicking on this Join Us link.
