Camp Scully is located on Snyder’s Lake in North Greenbush within Rensselaer County, approximately 10 miles from Albany and Troy in New York. In addition to boating and swimming activities, Snyder's Lake is an ideal habitat to see (and hear) a diverse mix of bird species including Great Blue Herons, Common Merganser, Sandpipers and a couple of recently sighted Bald Eagles.

  • Thursday 11 am until 8 pm (lunch on your own)
  • Friday 11 am until 9 pm (lunch on your own unless added)

DINING / Menus

Each meal has vegetarian and vegan options as well as providing for many other special diet needs. We will do our best to accommodate guests with food allergies & food sensitivities. When you register we will ask about your dietary needs. Please also let us know about any life-threatening allergies. We may not be able to satisfy all requests, especially for those who register after July 31. You may have to supplement with some food on your own. Where possible, toppings will be served on the side.

what to Expect

Be Prepared:

  1. Be Warm – Cabins are not heated.
  2. Beds are bunk style with mattresses - bedding is NOT provided.
  3. Don't bring your best clothing. Your clothes will get dirty.
  4. Please don't bring anything of significant value to camp, such as money, electronics, games or jewelry. We are not responsible for any losses.
  5. Warm clothing and sleeping gear are essential. Pack light, but pack well!
  6. Weapons, drugs, and pets are not allowed.
  7. Driving on the campus to your cabin is not allowed - you may drive to the beach to unload your kayak.
  8. The campus is very dark at night, so bring a good FLASHLIGHT.

Please read and sign the Waiver and Liability Form and bring it with you to camp. Note: this form will also be included in the packet of information that we will send to you a week prior to the Gathering.


If you will be taking one of the kayak or canoe workshops, please also print and sign this waiver for Bold Paths.

ILLNESS Policy 



Camp Policies and Rules


  • Use of vehicles is restricted to roads and parking areas only. Driving/parking in the tenting area or near your residence is prohibited! Exception: you are allowed to drive your car from the end of the road to the beach to unload/load your personal kayak.
  • Pets are not allowed. You may wish to find a kennel in the Albany area.
  • Smoking is not allowed in any building, including the pavilion. Smoking outdoors is allowed only next to the dumpster. Please dispose of your cigarette butts in an appropriate container.
  • Campfires are allowed in designated areas only.
  • No open flames inside – no candles, lanterns, or other open flames within any building.
  • Alcohol is permitted – if you choose to imbibe, please do so responsibly and be considerate of your fellow attendees.
  • Refrain from affixing any item to camp property by nails, screws, or staples.
  • PFDS required when paddling PFDs must be worn and fastened at all times when using canoes or kayaks.
  • Swimming is allowed only in the designated area and is at your own risk. There is no lifeguard.
  • Do not disturb markers or signs around the camp.
  • Help keep Camp Scully green – please pick up any litter that you see within camp.
  • Quiet hours are from 10pm to 7am – please be respectful of your fellow attendees.
  • Prior to departure sweep and clean your cabin and move all furniture back to its original place.
