We'll bike about 20 miles through the gentle rolling hills of Antietam National Battlefield and stop at the major sites from that famous Civil War battle. While today the countryside is bucolic and peaceful, on September 17, 1862, 23,000 soldiers were killed, wounded or missing after 12 hours of combat in the bloodiest one day battle in American history.
Bring water, snacks and lunch. Everyone must wear a bicycle helmet.
This free event is open to members and non-members of Women Outdoors Mid-Atlantic. Non-members are invited to join us on two events before we ask you to join Women Outdoors. Antietam National Battlefield charges $4.00 per person or $6.00 per family.
Please register no later than 12:00 p.m., Friday, March 19, and include a telephone number in case of last minute changes. Thanks.
