At Camp Scatico, our new Gathering home, we will be able to provide both volunteer and professional-led programming. You will also find many opportunities for ad-hoc activities, taking advantage of the lake, facilities, and equipment at Scatico.

Volunteer-led workshops/activities are a long tradition at our Gathering, allowing women to take on leadership roles and share their skills and passions in a supportive environment.

For those of you with a lot of experience, who find it easy to step forward and lead – we love you and can't wait to see what you can offer this year!

For those of you who might be unsure about leading a workshop – the Gathering is your chance to start! See Volunteering for some ideas.

Volunteer-led Workshops

Here are some ideas of what you could lead:

  • Hike on Scatico trails or off-campus
  • Bike ride off-campus
  • Bird/Plant Walk
  • Paddle on the lake
  • A session of Yoga, Tai Chi, Meditation or other modality

  • Teach Outdoor skills
  • Present an outdoor adventure or share your expertise.

  • Teach/Facilitate Arts & Crafts

Paddle/Swim

There is both swimming and boating on the 3/4 mile long spring-fed, natural and motor free lake at Camp Scatico. Bring your own,  utilize one of the Camp Scatico boats, or take a class.

Scatico offers sit-upon kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, and row boats. They also have available for us a water trampoline and an inflatable obstacle course.

Note: Lifeguard supervision is required during pre-approved hours for both swimming and boating (see the schedule below).

Fishing is also available at the designated dock or at the waterfront.

Professional-led Activities

Beginning and intermediate kayaking and canoe classes will be offered by our very own ACA instructors ,Bonna and Deb, as well as others. Boats and equipment will be provided.

A Climbing tower challenge will be available throughout the day.

Archery

NOTE:

Archery and the Climbing Wall will only be offered if we have enough interest. So if you'd like these offerings, be sure to indicate that when you register.

Camp Scatico provides a number of courts for your favorite sport - with no advance scheduling. All needed equipment is available at each court. Courts are lit at night. Just find one or more players, and you're ready to go! Don't know anybody? Make a friend - ask somebody who's shy or who looks like they're searching for something to do!
