Camp Scatico lies on a 275-acre campus, situated on two lakes in the Upper Hudson Valley. We will be on the Girl's campus. There's plenty to do in and around Camp Scatico. Check out the athletic facilities and our scheduled activities. See also our Lodging options.

Check-in / check-out

You may arrive on campus as early as noon on Friday, Sept. 22, and must be off-campus no later than 3 p.m. on Sunday. Eat lunch or enjoy other activities before the lodging move-in time.

Campus Arrival/Departure: Friday noon to Sunday 3 pm

Cabin Check-in/Check-out: Friday 3 pm to Sunday 12:30 pm

     Check in at the camp office until midnight Friday.


DINING

Meals are always hot, fresh and delicious with plenty variety and choices! The main meal is served family style with a salad station.

Camp Scatico can accommodate dietary restrictions including gluten free, dairy, vegan, and vegetarian. When you register we will ask about your dietary needs. Please also let us know about any life-threatening allergies.

We may not be able to satisfy all requests, especially for those who register after July 21. We'll let you know prior to your arrival what can be accommodated.

The Cook Shack, located next to the dining hall, is available for any food that you need to bring to supplement the meal service. Amenities include a microwave, stove, frig, and freezer. 

Meal Times:

Breakfast: 8:00 am (Saturday & Sunday)

Lunch: 12:30 pm (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

Dinner: 6:00 pm (Friday, Saturday)


Snacks:

Coffee/Tea station and Fruit bowl/snacks are available throughout the day.


Outdoor dining at the BBQ deck.


The canteen is open at night from 8-11 pm. Items for sale from $1-$4 include sodas, chips, ice cream, and candy.

What to Expect

Be Prepared:

  • Be Warm –The cabins are not heated.
  • Beds are bunk style with mattresses - bedding is available for an extra fee (beds will not be made).

  • Don't bring your best clothing. Your clothes will get dirty.
  • Please don't bring anything of significant value to camp, such as money, electronics, games or jewelry. We are not responsible for any losses.
  • Warm clothing and sleeping gear are essential. Pack light, but pack well!
  • Bring a good FLASHLIGHT to help navigate at night.
  • Basic cabin supplies (hand soap, toilet paper, bug spray) are provided.

Campus Facilities

  • There are a number of locations for us to hang out in small or large groups.
  • Wi-Fi hot spots are available in select locations.
  • Bringing perishable food or drinks? There are a number of locations to keep your food cold.
  • Bathrooms are available in a number of public places, as well as occupied cabins.

  • Camp Scatico will have on site a staff member certified in CPR and First Aid by the American Red Cross.
  • Golf carts are available to rent for the entire weekend. The cost is $300 and must be rented directly from Camp Scatico. If you are interested, we recommend that you share the cost with other attendees.

Silent Auction

Start saving now and bring us your gently used outdoor gear and clothing. Proceeds will be added to our scholarship fund to allow a member in need to attend the Gathering.

Registration & Paperwork

what we ask at REgistration: 

During registration after selecting your lodging, we will ask:

  • if you'd like to room with any specific friends.
  • if you have any special housing needs.
  • about your special dietary needs, if any.
  • if you'd like to volunteer to lead a workshop or other activity.
  • if you're interested in participating in boating lessons, archery, and/or the climbing wall.
  • to provide us with your emergency contacts.
  • about any medical history/issues that you feel we should know.
  • you to affirm your agreement with the Participant Program Agreement.

We will also give you the opportunity to review our Release and Waiver, to be signed during the check-in process on-site. We will have a printed copy for you.  Please review it now from the link above, or during registration, to save time during check-in.

NOTE:

Our final packet with detailed information about the Gathering will be sent a week or two prior to your arrival. But you can find pretty much all of the information needed on these web pages.


  Camp Policies and Safety  

VEHICLES + TRANSPORTATION

  • Use of vehicles (besides camp-rented golf carts) is restricted to roads and parking areas only. Exception: you are allowed to drive your car closer to the lake to unload/load your personal kayak with the assistance of Scatico staff. Guests must abide by posted speed limits– 10 mph. Help is available to get you and your belongings to your cabin.
  • Should you be driving a golf cart at any time, be aware of pedestrians, bikers, and other camp traffic. Maximum 4 riders per 4-seater golf cart. 
  • When biking on Scatico property, bike helmets must be worn at all times.  

PACKING + CABIN LIVING

  • Pets are not allowed. 
  • Smoking is not allowed in any building. Smoking outdoors is allowed only in the permitted smoking area by camp’s entrance. Please dispose of your cigarette butts in an appropriate container.
  • Campfires are allowed only at the campfire site. 
  • Hunting, fireworks, firearms, ammunition, and explosives are prohibited. The use of gasoline, flammables, and hand and power tools requires written authorization from the Site Director.  
  • No open flames inside – no candles, lanterns, or other open flames within any building.
  • Alcohol is permitted but must be stored at the Cook Shack (shown during orientation), Canteen, or HC – if you choose to imbibe, please do so responsibly and be considerate of your fellow attendees.
  • Refrain from affixing any item to camp property by nails, screws, or staples.
  • Please leave the camp free of defacement. Help keep Camp Scatico green – please pick up any litter that you see within camp.
  • Please abide by the town’s 10:30 PM sound ordinance for amplified music.  
  • If you'd like to bring your own fans, they need to be battery operated, as plugs will be difficult to navigate with the location of outlets. Note: Each cabin has ceiling fans.
  • We are a NUT-FREE facility! Please do not bring any food with you containing nuts.

WATERFRONT


  • The lake is ONLY open when a Scatico lifeguard is on-duty. During off-duty hours people can walk down to the lake for views, but cannot enter or boat. 
  • Guests must abide by all rules established by the Scatico lifeguards. 
  • PFDs required when paddling and boating. PFDs must be worn and fastened at all times when using canoes or kayaks.
  • Swimming is allowed only in designated areas

After arrival, participants will participate in a mandatory Safety Presentation with an on-site director.
