We'll hike down to Hemlock Lake on the new section of Rob's Trail. After taking in the views and eating a snack we'll head back up the hill.
RSVP and Cancellations
Please respect the trip leader and update your RSVP if you sign-up but then are unable to attend. If you attend without RSVP-ing it is possible that the hike may have changed without notification.
Trail Conditions
The 3 mile round trip trail has a nice tread, easy to walk. There are some moderately steep sections on the return, but not extreme. I am a slow hiker so most people can keep up, but you will need to be able to handle the 3 mile distance, half of which is a steady climb. I would rate this as a moderate level hike.
What to Bring
Dress for the weather. Sturdy soled shoes, a walking stick, hat, gloves, layers. Bring water and a snack if desired.
Location and Directions
For detailed directions from your location use the approximate address (6152 Bald Hill Rd, Springwater, NY 14560) and your GPS or an online mapping program.
The parking area on Rt 15A is about 5 miles south of Hemlock, and on the right when coming from the north. There is a sign for the new, large parking lot.
Onsite Facilities
There are no facilities onsite, and no nearby businesses. If you’re coming from the north there is a gas station and mini-mart in Hemlock; from the south the nearest businesses are in Wayland. If you use TP in the outdoor facilities make sure to bring a zip lock baggie so you can carry it out (TP is so gross to find in the woods).
