Finger Lakes region has a weekend planned in the Adirondacks, and members from all regions are welcome and encouraged to join us.

Day activities for Saturday include a hike to Henry Woods and a visit to the Olympic Ski Jump Complex. Sunday includes a hike on the Flume Trail of the Ausable River. On your own, or with others, you can also hike a high peak up Cascade Mountain or paddle Upper and Lower Cascade Lakes. These events, and perhaps others, will be posted soon. Come either day or stay over in Lake Placid area.

There is no payment required as you book your own accommodations. If you’d like to stay at the campground with us (or really anywhere in the area), you should book your stay NOW! There are lots of motels, hotels in the area if a campground is not your cup of tea.

We'll be at Draper’s Acres campground (4582 Cascade Rd, Lake Placid, NY). It is close to the Cascade Mt trail head to hike and has lots of tent sites starting at $25 or 7 cabins starting at $60. Some of us are going to stay both Friday and Saturday night.

Wendy has reserved 3 of the cabins in her own name. So if you are interested in a cabin, contact Wendy directly (contact info will be sent when you RSVP) to make arrangements to move the reservation to your own name. Call Draper’s Acres directly, 518-523-9322, to reserve a tent site. You may want to reserve one in the group from 39-43, but that is up to you.

We will try to carpool up from the Finger Lakes region for those interested in carpooling. It’s about a 4 hour drive from Syracuse.

Even though this is a book-on-your-own weekend, we will ask you to RSVP for the day events, and we'd like to know if you're coming, so please RSVP to this event as well. Then we'll be sure to let you know when the day events are posted,

Contact info will be sent when you RSVP.
