Please join me for Dickens in Skaneateles, http://www.skaneateles.com/visit/dickens on Saturday, December 9, 2017.  We’ll meet at the The Sherwood Inn at 11:30 AM.  Depending on the crowds and your mood, we can eat lunch there or at another restaurant in town.  There are several good ones.

You can park in back of the Sherwood (26 W. Genesee St. Skaneateles, NY 13152), for free on the street on the west side of the lake (on your right while facing the lake), or at one of the municipal lots.  If the weather is nice, I like to park on that side street by the lake and then walk along the lake to the Sherwood and town.

PARKING:
Paid parking is available in the municipal lot between Jordan and State streets; free parking is available in the lot adjacent to Ace Hardware/Skaneateles Town Square on Fennell Street and at the Austin Park Pavilion, at the corner of Jordan and Austin streets. A horse-drawn wagon will shuttle between both locations and the village. Tickets for the shuttle, which runs from 11:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., are $2 per person each way, $10 per family (maximum of six people). Shuttle riders will receive a coupon for a free holiday ornament from the Skaneateles Area Chamber of Commerce.

There are 50 Dickens characters who stroll through town and make stops at various locations.  That event goes from 12 – 4.  We can probably pick up a schedule of where they’ll be when once we’re in town.  Maybe we’ll even want to ride the horse-drawn wagon back to our cars.

Please dress for the weather. Contact information for Leslie will be in your confirmation email.

RSVP and Cancellations – IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ

Please respect the trip leader and update your RSVP if you sign-up but then are unable to attend. Please also RSVP early, especially if there are only a few signed up. Events may be cancelled due to lack of attendance, as well as changes in weather or other circumstances. So be sure to RSVP and share your cell phone number when asked, as events may have changed and you will not receive notification. If you must cancel at the last minute, call or text the event host/trip leader, as not all leaders have access to the Meetup app on their phones (let her know who it is who is calling/texting). Be sure to copy down the address, directions, and trip leader contact information to bring with you as there might not be good cell service at the event location.

This free event is open to members and non-members of Women Outdoors. Non-members are invited to join us on two events to see what you think. The third time's a charm - we'll ask you to join Women Outdoors at that point. You can join now by clicking on Join Us.
