Event Leadership/Meetup Training

Are you already leading trips with Women Outdoors? You’re an Event Host on Meetup, but confused about what goes where, how to contact attendees, and what is needed? You’re not alone. Or are you just thinking about stepping up and leading an event? You are all invited to our training session to get all of your questions answered, and to help us answer questions for others. This is your time to share your experiences. Come for a day of good company, food, and fun!

Agenda

• planning for an event
• information needed to post
• how to post yourself on Meetup
• what to do before, during, and after the event
• managing attendees, questions, communication, etc. on Meetup and via email
• discussions on leader gear, trail-head talk, safety, situational decisions
• if time, help us with developing our own Code of Conduct and FAQ pages

Lunch

We'll ask during registration to vote for your choice for the main course, and we'll go with the choice that gets the most votes. Our options are:

• sandwich fixings and salads
• rotisserie chicken and salads
• order in some pizza

Location

We will be meeting in Seneca Falls, at the center of our region, in the community conference room at Lyons National Bank. 2433 State Route 414, Waterloo, NY 13165

We’ll have available to us a microwave and frig, and teleconferencing tools, including Wi-Fi. Directions will be sent beforehand via email.

This free event is open to members of Women Outdoors. 

*** RSVP and Cancellations – IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ ***

Please respect the trip leader and update your RSVP if you sign-up but then are unable to attend. Please also RSVP early, especially if there are only a few signed up. Events may be cancelled due to lack of attendance, as well as changes in weather or other circumstances. If you must cancel at the last minute, call or text the event host/trip leader (see your registration confirmation for contact details) and let her know who it is who is calling/texting. Be sure to copy down the address, directions, and trip leader contact information to bring with you as there might not be good cell service at the event location.
