Follensby Clear Pond offers a nice entry level canoe or kayak camping opportunity in the St Regis area of the Adirondacks. By going during the week we'll have more of a wilderness experience and our choice of campsites. The group will decide if we want to stay at one campsite both nights, or move each night.

This event is limited to 4 participants, with 1 slot currently open. Since this event will require some advance planning it will be important to RSVP early. After your RSVP is received a host will be in touch to confirm that you are a good fit for the trip and the trip is a good fit for you.

Attitude Requirements
-You'll be participating in planning and camp chores to the best of your ability, so you won't be expecting to just come along for the ride
-There could be a lot of bugs. Or it could be cold. Or hot. If this will ruin your enjoyment then maybe this trip isn't for you.
-Once you commit to the event the other participants are counting on you, so we want a real commitment, not a casual maybe.

Skill Requirements
-You should have experience paddling, and be able to paddle more or less in a straight line and be able to direct your boat where you want it to go. Beginner to intermediate skills are fine, but this should not be your first time paddling.
-You should be able to paddle for at least an hour - not furiously, not continuously.
-Camping experience helpful, but not required
-You should be able to carry your gear. We'll help each other other out, but if you decide to bring your hard cover Harry Potter collection your quads better be up to it.

Equipment Requirements
-You will need a canoe or a kayak with a waterproof hatch(es). If needed, this can be rented from the nearby St. Regis Outfitters.
-PFDs are required to be worn by all participants while we are paddling.
-Some camping gear (like cooking stoves) will be shared by the group and will be discussed during planning
-Recommended personal gear will be discussed during planning
