Kayaking at Patuxent River Park - Jackson's Landing
This has been one of Women Outdoors Mid-Atlantic's favorite natural areas for paddling. We generally see osprey, perhaps eagles, butterflies and various wetlands vegetation depending on the time of year. Patuxent River Park / Jug Bay is a gem to explore.
Level of difficulty: Moderately difficult. Warm temperatures can affect one’s endurance.
Parking and Restrooms: Both are available at the Visitor's Center (flush) and at the launch site (porta-potty).
No boat? No problem! You’ll be able to reserve a canoe or kayak at Jackson’s Landing (in advance). Rates are for the day rather than the hour.
